🧶 What We Offer
-
Hand-spun yarn made from your pet’s fur
-
Optional blending with sheep’s wool for strength
-
Custom-made knitted or crocheted Keepsake
🧶 How It Works
-
Place your order.
-
We’ll contact you with the shipping address for the fur.
-
Send your fur (your cost) – please avoid tightly packing it, as this can cause matting or felting.
-
We'll email you to confirm safe arrival.
-
We will weigh, sort, and inspect the fur.
-
If needed, we will blend it with wool for durability – perfectly colour-matched.
-
We’ll wash and air-dry the fur.
-
We hand-spin the yarn, and often share updates on social media.
-
We then wash and set the yarn 2–3 more times (this takes approx. 3–4 days depending on weather).
- We knit or crochet the fur yarn into a beautiful custom-made keepsake
-
We send photos of the finished product for your approval.
-
Once approved, we ship the yarn to you (shipping included in the price).
📦 Please include a note with your name and order number within your parcel and your order number on the outside of the parcel where possible.

🐶 Pet Fur Suitability
Double-Coated Fur
Most double-coated pets do not require blending with wool and can be spun as-is. Double-coated breeds have coats made up of two different layers. The first, outermost layer is a harsh topcoat that consists of long, coarse hairs. A topcoat may also be called guard hairs or primary hairs. Beneath the topcoat is the short, soft, and dense second layer, usually referred to as the undercoat. Which is woolly in texture and their soft, dense undercoat creates a strong and beautiful yarn.
✅ Suitable for for this type of project.
Examples of double-coated breeds:
-
Dogs: Akita, Husky, Malamute, Chow Chow, Pomeranina, Pomski, Shiba Inu, Samoyed.
-
Cats: Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Persian, Scottish Fold
-
Others: Angora, Lionhead Rabbit
You can find a more extensive breed list at the bottom of this page.
Single-Coated Fur
Single-coated fur must be blended with wool for strength and spinability.
📏 Must be at least 2 inches in length
⚠️ Will be quite spikey and coarse when knitted.
🐾 Short Fur Option:
If your fur is too short for spinning, we can make your heart using hand-spun sheep’s wool, then stuff it with your pet’s fur—so your keepsake still holds your pet’s essence.
📌 This is available by request and is the same cost.
🌿 Blending with Wool
If you have less fur than required, we can supplement with wool:
Example:
-
Only have 30g for a 50g heart?
-
We’ll add 20g of perfectly colour-matched wool—no extra charge.
Let us know how much fur you have, and we’ll blend accordingly.
⚠️ Unusable Fur
We do everything we can to use all the fur you send. However, some may be unsuitable if:
-
It’s matted or felted
-
It’s too short (under 2 inches for single-coated breeds)
-
It contains large amounts of debris
Please check and gently sort the fur before sending. Separated fur gives the best result!
If your fur is unsuitable for spinning, we will return it and refund your order (minus return postage).
🧼 Aftercare Instructions
-
Hand-wash only recommended
-
Avoid soaking – gently wipe clean with warm water
-
We wash all fur a minimum of 3 times before knitting.
💡 Want to keep your pet’s natural scent?
We can skip washing by request—just add a note to your order.

❓ FAQs
Q: Can I send fur from a specific breed?
Yes! We accept fur from dogs, cats, and rabbits. Double-coated breeds work best, but we can blend wool for single-coated pets.
Q: What if I don’t have enough fur?
We’ll add wool to match your heart’s size. Just let us know how much you’re sending.
Q: Can I request something other than a heart?
Absolutely! We create scarves, fingerless gloves, hats, and more. Message us for a quote or custom order.
Q: How do I send the fur?
We’ll provide the address after purchase. Avoid over-compressing fur in tight bags—this causes felting. Include your name and order number.

Absolutely thrilled with the heart. We were devastated to lose our 2 Springers but having this gives us back a little bit of them. We even have some spare wool. Such a lively and unusual keepsake.
