Do you have a sheep's fleece or alpaca blanket from one of your favourite animals ? enjoy knitting, crochet or weaving, but want to use your own wool.
We can take this fibre and turn it into beautiful, traditionally hand spun yarn that you can use or sell on.
All work is carried out by hand, no bleaches or chemicals are used. (Unless we are dying the wool for you too).
Prices start from £65 per 500g (weight of raw sheep fleece) that's cheaper per 100g that most of the commercial yarns you find in the local craft shop , and you are getting bespoke handspun yarn.
We dont just do set amounts like the large mills either. If you only need 300g to make that perfect scarf you've been dreaming of or you need 1.2kg for that cosy jumper we can do that to, just contact us for a qoute.
FAQ's
How much yarn will I recieve?
You send your raw sheeps wool , we then wash and dry the wool. During the washing process we remove lanolin (the grease on the fleece) , dirt and debris. The amount varies from fleece to fleece and is not an exact measurable amount . We can assure you that we will use every piece of wool we can to make the yarn (we hate waste). If you send 1kg of sheeps wool and the fleece is very dirty and greasy you may only recieve 850g of yarn, but will use all of the wool we can. The weight is lost in the removal of lanolin, dirt and debris.
For metre/yardage we again can not estimate this for a variety of reasons. The thickness of the wool, the thickness of the yarn, each skein can be slighty different due to the nature of hand spinning. We can of course (by request) count the yardage for you once the yarn has been made, so you can see if you have enough for that perfect project.

The price also includes the spinning, plying, washing, drying , setting and the return postage.
You are responsible for the cost of send the fleece to us this gives you the option of using whichever courier you prefer and your choice of collection dates etc. We can of course arrange postage from you to us at an additional cost however most companies now require you to print the labels.
How long does it take ?
