Information and FAQ's

Some types of pet fur will need to be mixed with sheep's wool in order to make a strong enough yarn to use. I will select a sheep's wool that matches the colour of your pets fur.
Most double coated animal fur will NOT need to be mixed. For example huskies, German shepard, pomeranian, shih tzu, samoyed, chow chow.
All single coated animal fur will need to be mixed with sheep's wool or alpaca to give a usable yarn.

All fur needs to be at least 1.5 inches otherwise it may start to fall apart if washed a lot and will be quite scratchy. I have worked with 1 inch fur but I don't recommend as I want you to be happy for years to come and not disappointed if the fur starts to fall out of the yarn in the future. (this is a little different for double coated fur, it does make better yarn that lasts)

Once your order is placed. I will send you the address. You then need to ship me the fur (your cost) please include a note with your name , address and order number.

I then process the fur, wash and dry, card, hand spin it, wash and dry, set , then hand knit or crochet, and once finished I will send a photo of the finished item and then ship it back to you. (the shipping back to you is included in your order).

Will my item be scratchy ?- this depends on the fur, if the fur has a lot of gaurd hairs it maybe scratchy.

Will the fur fall out after washing ? you may loose a little fur during the first few washes.

I dont have much Fur what are my options ? i can combine your fur with alpaca or wool to create more yarn.

How long will it take to make ? this varies. but for example a 300g scarf can take around 6 weeks for the fur to be hand proccessed, hand spun into yarn and then hand knitted/crochet. Depending on the fur sometimes it can been sooner/longer.

How much will it cost ? this depends on what you are wanting. All items are made by hand from start to finish and this takes a lot of time and skill. I try to keep my prices as low as possible. (I do have the prices for pet fur spinning on another listing, so it would be the amount of fur you have PLUS the making of an item. If you email me i can give you a qoute)
