Manos Del Uruguay Manos Alegria grande- Cabaret (AG8105)
Manos del Uruguay yarns have a unique story. 'Manos' was created in 1968 to provide jobs for women in their rural hometowns in Uruguay allowing them to provide for their families and be independent while staying in their home villages and keeping their roots and traditional skills. Manos is still committed to the same objective and was made a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation in 2009. Manos de Uruguay spin and dye their yarns in cooperatives located in the small towns in Uruguay's countryside. Each Manos skein has a tag with the name of the artisan who made it and the cooperative location. The yarns are created in Chunky through to Lace weight. They are hand dyed to produce a rich colour pallette with the subtle irregularities which the hand of each artisan gives to it
