This pattern is designed to be used with your own hand spun chunky art yarn or chunky hand spun slub yarn. However, you can use Chunky and Super Chunky Yarn – Farm to Fibre or Knit collage spun cloud/cast away works too.
Needle & other supplies:
Size 25mm straight needles
Size 15mm straight needles or Slightly thinner chunky yarn -
(When the pattern states change to 15mm needles, you can either use the 15mm needles with the same yarn OR switch to a slightly thinner hand spun chunky yarn and knit with the 25mm needles)
Darning needle- we find dreadlock needles very handy when using super chunky yarns they have a very large eye hole.
Gauge:
4 sts x 5 Rows =10x10cm
Body: Panels x2
Row 1: with 15mm needles CO 34(38) sts
Row 2-5 : (Rib) K1, P1 to end
Change to 25mm needles
Row 6- 19: work St st with first row being K
For size Large only : continue is St st for 2 more Rows ending on a Purl row.
Cast off.
Repeat so you have 2 panels.
Sleeve: x2
Row 1: with 15mm needles CO 18sts
Row 2-5 : (Rib) K1, P1 to end
Row 6: K to end
Row 7: P to end
Row 8: K1, Kfb, K to 2 sts before end , Kfb, K1
Row 9: P to end
Change to 25mm needles
Row 10: K1, Kfb, K to 2 sts before end Kfb, K1
Row 11: P to end
Row 12: K1, Kfb, K to 2 sts before end, Kfb, K1
Row 13: P to end
Row 14: K1, Kfb, K to 2 sts before end, Kfb, K1
Row 15: P to end
Row 16: K1, Kfb, K to 2 sts before end , Kfb, K1
Row 17: P to end
Row 18: K to end
Row 19: P to end
For size medium only: Cast off loosely
For size Large only:
Row 20: K to end
Row 21: P to end
Row 22: K to end
Row 23: P to end
Cast off loosely.
Repeat for other sleeve.
Finishing:
Lay all pieces flat , right side facing upwards.

Sew each should at the top, approximately 16-18 cm each side for a slightly off shoulder look. You may want to try this on and adjust for the fit/style which suits you the most. Sew up more if it is hanging too far down your shoulder.

Now sew the sleeve to the body, Continue sewing around the sleeve and down the armpit area and side seem.
Repeat on the other side.
For the heart design you can either
Thread the thinner contrasting yarn used on the sleeves and stitch on a heart shape
or
With a crochet hook stitch over the knit stitches using single crochet.
Weave in any ends and block.
